Is it cheaper to pay Delta bag fees at check-in or at the airport?

Some airlines charge a little less when you pay in advance, so check the fee in My Trips before you travel. For tickets purchased on or after April 8, 2026, most domestic routes are $45 for the first bag, $55 for the second and $200 for the third, and prices at the airport can be slightly higher on some routes.

To save:

• Add your bag during online check-in.
• Use a card or status benefit if you have one.
• Weigh your bag to avoid overweight charges.
